Bangladesh Plans To Invest 20 Hydropower Projects In Nepal

Bangladesh will to invest in 20 hydropower projects in Nepal at bilateral trade talks in Kathmandu last week.

 

Bangladeshi officials said that at the fourth meeting of the Nepal-Bangladesh Trade Promotion Technical Committee, both countries have a positive attitude towards simplifying existing issues related to tariff and non-tariff barriers.

 

Officials attending the negotiations said: "In addition to trade issues, Bangladeshi officials are also keen to invest in Nepalese hydropower projects ." At the recent ministerial meeting in Dhaka, the two countries agreed to conduct electricity trade through Indian transmission network.
