Cage Terminal Screw plays an important role in the field of electrical connection. The traditional cage terminal is inserted into the wire by screws. There is no need to move the cage terminal when using it.

The cage clamp design works well with nearly every size and type of wire and requires no special wire preparation. Just strip the wire and insert it into the block. Tightening the screw compresses the wire against the current bar and provides a secure and reliable connection for any application.
The mechanical system in the Weidmuller cage clamp is made from hardened steel for superior strength and is electro-plated to inhibit corrosion.
Insert the conductor in the ample space provided by the cage clamp.
Tighten the screw until the contactor is contacting both the hardened steel of the cage clamp and the busbar. Notice the trapezoidal shape of the bottom portion of the cage clamp. This helps redirect the force of the clamping system into the wire (conductor) and then up into the current bar. This provides the maximum surface contact between the wire and the busbar.
As the screw is further tightened, the top two folds of the cage clamp begin to deform. This forms a "self-locking" system that insures the wire stays in place
