Products Description
Blind rivets, which are often called pop rivets, are mostly in applications where there is no access to the rear (blind side) of the joint. These rivets come in two parts: one part is the body, also called the shell or hat, and the other part is the stem, also known as the mandrel. Both parts are put together ahead of time and ready for use right out of the box. To install them, you use a riveting tool to pull on the mandrel. This makes the body expand and squeeze tightly against the joint. Once it reaches the right clamping force, the mandrel breaks off and gets thrown away. Blind Rivets, also known as pop rivets, are a versatile and efficient fastening solution ideal for applications where only one side of the material is accessible. These rivets create a strong, reliable hold in metal, plastic, and wood, making them perfect for construction, automotive, marine, and general manufacturing industries.

Corrosion Resistance: Depending on the material, Pop rivets can resist corrosion, making them suitable for a variety of environments.

Time Efficiency: Pop rivets allow for fast assembly, reducing labor costs in manufacturing and construction environments.

Ease of Installation: Quick to install with the appropriate rivet gun, often requiring access from only one side.

Strength: Provide a secure fastening solution with good shear and tensile strength depending on the material used.
How to Install Rivets: A Step-by-Step Guide
Choose the right rivet:
Consider the materials being joined and their combined thickness.
Select a rivet with an appropriate grip range and diameter.
Choose the right material (e.g., aluminum, steel, stainless steel) based on your application's requirements.
Prepare the work area:
Ensure the surfaces to be joined are clean and free of debris.
Mark the locations where rivets will be installed.
Drill the hole:
Use a drill bit slightly larger than the rivet's diameter (typically 1/64" larger).
Drill through both materials being joined.
Deburr the hole if necessary to ensure a smooth surface.
Insert the rivet:
Place the rivet into the pre-drilled hole.
Ensure the rivet's head sits flush against the surface.
Position the rivet tool:
For blind rivets, place the nose piece of the rivet gun over the mandrel (stem) of the rivet.
Ensure the nose piece is perpendicular to the work surface.
Set the rivet:
Squeeze the handle of the rivet gun firmly and steadily.
Continue applying pressure until you feel or hear the mandrel break.
For pneumatic tools, maintain pressure until the rivet is fully set.
Inspect the installation:
Check that the rivet head is flush against the surface.
Ensure the materials are tightly joined with no gaps.
Verify that the mandrel has broken off cleanly.
Clean up:
Remove any debris or broken mandrel pieces from the work area.
For aesthetic applications, touch up the area around the rivet if necessary.
